Information My Mem handles
Your memory content
Content you choose to save, including notes, links, titles, descriptions, tags, photos, screenshots, audio recordings, transcriptions, OCR text, lists, collections, and related metadata.
Default: stored locally on your device.
Optional iCloud sync
If you turn on iCloud sync, your memories and their media are stored in your private CloudKit database so they can stay in sync across your Apple devices. Apple processes this data under your Apple Account and Apple's terms.
Optional cloud AI
If you enable cloud AI, My Mem may send the content needed for that memory, such as text, OCR, a transcription, a compressed image, a URL, or public webpage metadata, to My Mem's secure processing service and its AI provider. This is used to create summaries, categories, tags, and searchable details.
My Mem's gateway is designed not to log memory bodies or keep memory content after a response. The current managed AI provider is OpenAI. OpenAI states that API data is not used for model training unless the account owner opts in, and its standard abuse-monitoring logs may be retained for up to 30 days. If you choose a direct provider and enter your own API key, that provider's policy applies to those requests.
Permissions you choose
My Mem may ask for access to selected photos, the microphone, speech recognition, notifications, or Face ID. These permissions are used only for the feature you request and can be changed in iOS Settings.
Purchases
Apple handles subscription payment details. My Mem receives subscription status and transaction information needed to unlock and restore access, not your full payment-card details.
Support messages
If you contact support, we receive the information you include in your email. It is used to respond to you and resolve the issue.
This website
This website does not use advertising or analytics trackers and does not set its own tracking cookies. Its hosting provider may process limited technical information, such as an IP address and request time, to deliver and secure the site.
How information is used
My Mem uses information only to provide the features you choose, keep the app reliable and secure, answer support requests, process subscription access, and comply with legal obligations. My Mem does not use third-party advertising trackers.
Sharing and service providers
Information is shared only when needed for a feature you enable or when required by law. Relevant providers can include Apple for CloudKit and App Store purchases, an AI provider for optional cloud enrichment, and an infrastructure provider that hosts My Mem's secure AI gateway. Providers are expected to protect information and process it only for the requested service.
Retention and deletion
- Local content: remains on your device until you delete it, delete all data in My Mem, or remove the app and its data.
- iCloud content: remains in your private CloudKit database until it is deleted through My Mem. When sync is on, deletion is sent to your other devices and iCloud.
- Cloud AI requests: My Mem's gateway processes them transiently. AI and infrastructure providers may retain limited request data under their policies, including OpenAI's standard retention described above.
- Support email: kept only as long as reasonably needed to answer the request, maintain support history, or meet legal obligations.
Your choices
- Turn on Local-only mode to disable iCloud sync and cloud AI.
- Turn off Cloud AI processing while continuing to use local features.
- Turn iCloud sync on or off from Settings in My Mem.
- Prepare a portable JSON export from Settings.
- Delete a memory at any time, or use Delete all data in Settings.
- Revoke Photos, Microphone, Speech Recognition, Notifications, or Face ID access in iOS Settings.

Children
My Mem is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the app.
Changes to this policy
If My Mem's data practices change, this page will be updated and the effective date will change. Material changes may also be communicated in the app.
